Good morning friends! š
Unfortunately, I havenāt got any funny topics in this opening section. So, I will just say that it has been VERY cold in the UK this week. āļø
There is something I have been thinking a lot about this week. It's the idea ofĀ learning in public.Ā This is where you publicly share what you are learning or working on. It could be anything, a personal project, an interesting fact, or something about your hobby.
Despite the abundance of social media accounts, theĀ majority of people donāt frequently post anything. Most of the content online is created by a small percentage of people.
From my own experience, people donāt share online mainly because they are worried about what others think. By simply posting, you find out this is not the case and that literally no one cares.Ā
Posting online is a great way to meet new people, learn faster, and potentially build an audience. All of these will help you later in life in ways that you cannot understand right now.Ā
Starting myĀ Medium blogĀ in September 2021 was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It made me better at my job, meet amazing Data Scientists, and earn some money on the side. People have even offered to purchase some of my posts off me!Ā
Not all my articles are flawless or eloquently written. There are numerous examples where I have made mathematical errors and incoherent writing. However, my posts were not purely to teach, they were a way for me to document my learning. And, during learning you make mistakes. Thankfully, people spot these errors, so I receive quick feedback!
Itās also nice knowing that there is hopefully some valuable content out there made by you. You have your own slice of the internet.
So, if you are reading this and thinking about sharing online, then I donāt know what you are waiting for. There is very little risk for an almost limitless reward!
Oh, and one other thing, donāt say āI havenāt got time.ā The averageĀ TikTok user spends 95 minutes on the app. You definitely have time.

Weekly Favourites ā¤ļø
š¬Ā YouTube -Ā Andrej Karpathy: Intro to LLMs.Ā Itās no secret that Karpathy is the go-to guy for all things deep learning. He recently dropped a video titled "Intro to Large Language Models." It is a high-level overview of how these models work for the layman. Itās only an hour long, so I highly recommend it to anyone interested in AI!
š ļøĀ Tool -Ā Resonance Calendar.Ā I have recently added a āresonance calendarā to my Notion. I stole this from Ali Abdaal (shock) and itās basically a table full of stuff that "resonates" with you. It can be books, videos, podcasts, or literally anything that you want to keep track of.
š¬Ā YouTube -Ā James Jani.Ā WOW what a channel. I have binged nearly all of Jamesā videos in the past week š . His videos are docu-style and mainly focus on money. They are amazingly edited, not to mention enlightening and useful.
