Good morning friends!
I am feeling very sore this morning after playing two hockey games this weekend, and the cold weather certainly didn’t help my tightness.
Anyway, in this edition I want to announce some exciting changes and the direction of this newsletter 🚀

Some of you may have noticed that the topics in this newsletter are quite all over the place:
Tech
Data Science
Life-Lessons
Self-Development
I don’t mind this per se, as it makes it fun to write and I enjoy crafting every edition.
However, I feel the overall direction is slightly lacking. I want it to have some clear value proposition to the audience.
As Nicolas Cole puts it:
Everything else falls into “Hey! Subscribe to my fun newsletter where I share my learnings along the way!” territory.
And, to be blunt: nobody reads these.
Fair to say he knows quite a lot about writing online, and I want my newsletter to avoid this territory.
The other problem is that I don’t want to spend more time writing this newsletter. I enjoy sitting down and waffling through things I have been thinking about for a couple of hours. I don’t want to spend hours collating and researching topics.
So, I have an interesting solution to my small dilemma. I am going to continue doing similar posts but tailor it to Data Scientists. The topics in the newsletter will still be able to be applied everywhere, however, the value proposition will be for Data Scientists specifically.
Essentially, I am re-packaging the "offer" of this newsletter to be “a weekly newsletter for Data Scientists” where I share advice, tips, and thoughts from my personal experiences as a practicing Data Scientist.
If this change means you are no longer interested in my emails, feel free to unsubscribe, but things will not be that different. I also believe that the key themes in each post can apply to anyone.
At least for now, this is the direction I will be going in, but it may change. I am just figuring it out as I go along while trying to keep it fun!
